About Thomas

Thomas Cheeseman (BSc (Hons)) is a psychologist who places priority on supporting the client to feel comfortable and build a genuine therapeutic relationship. He seeks to work with his clients to create an open, non-judgemental, and warm space to explore thoughts, emotions, and challenges. Thomas has supported clients to focus on experiences of depression and anxiety, as well as supporting emotions, transitions, social skills, and relationships.

Thomas is committed to balancing person-centred practice with evidence-based therapy. This has been the focus of his practice in his previous role as a psychologist and behaviour support practitioner in the NDIS organisation Scope.

Thomas aims to continue growing in his development of skills in currently trained therapies of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). He is committed to learning and improving through regular supervision, training opportunities and through the insight of his clients.

Thomas has a special interest in:

• Anxiety disorders e.g. Generalised Anxiety Disorders, Social Anxiety, Panic Disorders.

• Mood disorders

• Emotional regulation

• Adolescent mental health

• Supporting transitions

• Supporting neurodiverse clients

Outside of work, Thomas enjoys spending time at the beach, eating good food, and spending time relaxing with friends.
